Before committing to the canvas, Kovato spent years experimenting across mediums, including drawing, writing, textile design, and sculpture. Painting eventually became his core discipline—a shift he views less as a strategic choice and more as an inevitable turning point.

He executes these subjects through either stripped-down, stark monochromatic palettes or intensely saturated, high-friction color. Through intuitive brushwork, Kovato channels dark, existential themes directly onto the surface, confronting the heavy reality of mortality through bold visual statements.
