The starting point for the object was the fabric itself, whose properties guided the design process. The collar provides the structural basis around which the material develops its own unpredictable form. The silver buttons draw attention to the point where structured construction gives way to indeterminacy. Indeterminacy becomes the result of a conscious relinquishing of control over a form that changes with the wearer’s silhouette and movement.
